Drafting
Drafting includes putting ideas into sentences in paragraphs, concentrating on ideas and supporting details. In this step, there is really no focus on things like spelling, grammar, etc. The main focus is just getting your ideas down on paper.
Revising
In revising,
- Rearrange writing to clarify meaning
- Add descriptive words and details
- Take out words and sentences that do not belong and make change to improve the writing.
Editing
Editing is where things like grammar, spelling and mechanics are checked and refined.Re-reading is a key part of editing; make sure everything is exactly how you want it and all formatting is correct.
Publishing
This is the last process of writing.
- Read what you wrote aloud
- Prepare a final draft and write final copy
- Share writing with others
